How hybrid cars work

The new hybrid cars are an excellent choice for anyone looking to save money at the gas pump and help the environment. Many hybrid car manufacturers are making hybrids because they are small and fuel-efficient. They are powered by a combination of a small fuel-efficient gas engine and by electric motor that helps with the acceleration Batteries that recharge automatically when the brakes are applied power the electric motor. At startup the electric motor powers the hybrid vehicle forward until the gas engine kicks in for more boost. Hybrids are now getting an average of 50 miles per gallon.
